Volik: SJ Tilly

Image
SJ Tilly took a left turn into paranormal romance, and it's so meta. Like, VOLIK (this story) is the romance novel a previous FMC was reading, where the ✨️vampire can smell his mate across town✨️ VOLIK involves a lot of world-building, and Tilly just drops us into the story the day our mates find each other. This story was fast paced, entertaining, and paranormal enough to keep the other worldliness of THE SIZING not feel so over the top. Like, dude is TALL excluding the horns 👀 👀 👀 Nyx is the independent but LONELY journalist turn professor, and Volik is the Vampire on staff at the college. They meet on her first day, which also happens to be her birthday. This story was interesting, I love a new take on vamps and other "alts". The magic of it all was fun to read, too. I think Volik would be a super fun beach read. It's got spice and the sweetness between these two is off the charts. Magpie: Lucy Lennox

Image
OH MY GAWD. Lucy Lennox is keeping us FED. Magpie was AMAZING. Kit and Robbie were just what I needed tonight. I loved them so much.  • father's best friend • age gap • pining LORD, THE PINING • down bad man who treasures his treasure I loved everything about this. The romance. The yearning. These two were just so good. The settings in California and South Carolina, perfection. All the little details were great, and I was invested from the beginning. While this does feature side characters from other stories by Lennox, you can absolutely enjoy on it's own. This is definitely gonna be a reread for me. I loved the devotion. I loved that it wasn't easy and perfect. Kit wasn't perfect and neither was Robbie. But they were perfect for each other! Thoughts just for this blog, and you, if you're reading this FEARURING SPOILERS: The sex scenes were good, and perfectly suited to these two and their story. There was a bit of push and pull from Kit, but again, it fit these tw...

Mend A Heart: Kris T Bethke & Tia Fielding

Image
Okay, hear me out. Book one of this series TAKE A CHANCE had me in a chokehold. Rancher/cowboy, single dad, bad situation turned romance. I love it SO MUCH and can't recommend it enough. Book two, EARN HIS TRUST was also hella good. Horse trainer/millionaire, one sided enemies to lovers, and y'all these two go thru it. I loved it, and recommend it as well. So when MEND A HEART popped up it was an immediate yes. And... it didn't hit for me at all. It could be my slump. It could also just be the themes of the story. BUT, I still wanted to review here because the first two books were STUNNING and this one may be just up your street. These two authors together are 🔥🔥🔥 Here's the blurb: Emery Harrington has focused on his goals of first becoming a family medicine doctor and then returning home to Colorado, his family’s ranch, and working at the family care clinic in town. With that dream realized, he turns his attention to being the best doctor he can be. But then his som...
