Beautiful Chaos: Kelly Fox

I love Kelly Fox and I love their Texas universe. There is something so fun about being a fan/reader when the author is such a heavy world builder. It's like going into town and hearing gossip about everyone you know.

Beautiful Chaos is out today, and I have enjoyed this adventure into the future with the (now grown) kiddos of the Guardians. The three books in the trilogy have been SO FUN, while as always dropping some great food for thought. This genre is ✨️murder swoon✨️ and yep, that tracks.

I was so excited to get Silas' story, and reading his POV was not at all what I was expecting (compliment). I had no idea where the story was gonna go and I was SO invested.

Oakley was the big bear of my dreams, and these two were absolutely fire.

Real talk, you will enjoy this story more if you read some of the other books in this universe. But once you start.... you may not be able to stop (again, compliment.)

If you are looking for VIGILANTES and disposing of very very bad guys, humor, spice, great world building, and delightful storytelling this is truly the place.

I have no idea where this author is gonna take me next, but I am happy to follow.

Okay, I will say ONE THING: I love a main character that is so down bad they are a disaster. Bless Silas' heart.

a note to the author: This book had me unexpectedly cackling, and you really did good with Silas. Oakley is his PERFECT match. Its giving MEANT TO BEEEEEEEEEEEE.

A Midsummer Night's Fling: Kelly Fox

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S FLING was a shortie little novella that was available for the prolific works summer freebie giveaway. I scooped this one up so fast because you know Kelly Fox is an autobuy author for me.  First off, the idea for this story is epic. There are two conventions in the same hotel, and they very obviously do not go together. CHEF'S KISS. We were lucky to be blessed with the gym bros and the literature nerds.  All hail the impeccable jock/nerd trope. It's such a wonderful & classic choice. Always hits the spot like a diet coke on a summer day.  And Kelly Fox did not miss. There was a lot of story packed into 93 pages.  Gavin, our Shakespeare nerd, has an intense insta-lusty-eye contact vibe with Kai, the bulky & well-off gym bro-ey guy he ends up sharing an elevator with. A Stable Daddy: Anna Sparrows

Just finished A STABLE DADDY 🧡 a daddy k!nk romance set in Australia between a widowed vet and a Texas cowboy. What starts as a rescue turned one night ✨️moment✨️ turns into more - months later when both mcs realize they've moved across the country separately. When they reconnect, almost like fate, both mcs are happy to jump into a relationship with a heavy dose of daddying. I liked Ryan. He was a bit of a mess. His realization that maybe he needed a daddy the entire time was such a sweet moment. Maddy, his late husband, also felt like an active character in the story. I like how Oscar never tried to take Maddy's place. I WANTED to like Oscar. And most of the time, I did. But a couple of times, he came off condescending as hell, and that irritated me a bit. But he saved Ryan at the Vault, and he genuinely loved him. I think my issues with Oscar may be down to the way the author wrote the character and less about the actual character.
