Casual Felonies: Kelly Fox

Rami & Truett were hot. CASUAL FELONIES was a smorgasbord of easter eggs & callbacks from Fox's entire Texas Universe while somehow simultaneously being inviting to new readers. Kind of like Taylor Swift - you can just listen to her music, but if you wanna go full swiftie down the rabbit hole, you can do that too! Choose your own adventure!

Rami is the son of Anders and Omar. The man is also absolutely down bad for his barber Truett. *love that name*

Things I loved in this story:

Truly, this story was absolutely over the top, in the best way. The author calls this genre murderswoon, and I agree.

So outside of introducing the characters (there are a lot!) and reintroducing old characters, and setting up the Wildlings series, there was Rami & Truett falling for each other, and there was a bad guy! AND a plot that I think will continue to pop up.

We love bad things happening to the bad guys at the hands of our mcs, and the Wimberly group definitely provides that.

While Truett was a hot toppy dreamboat, Rami was the star of the show for me. I feel like we got to watch him figure himself out and grow up. I loved him.

Needless to say, I can’t wait for book two. As I always say, if Kelly is writing it, I'm reading it.

The Legend Next Door: Totally Pucked Book 2: Jesse H. Reign

I think this may be the hardest review I've ever had to write. I can't believe I'm saying this because I genuinely believed that Unbreak Me would remain my favorite Jesse book of all time... but THE LEGEND NEXT DOOR has, without a doubt, taken that spot. I loved this book. I LOVED IT. Jesse chose violence with this one because I died multiple times while reading. Died. Dead. Ben Stirling. Holy hell. BEN STIRLING CAN GET IT. Brim Over Boot: Darling Brothers book 2: Emmy Sanders

Oh my god, I am UNWELL. I shouldn't be surprised, but this one snuck up on me. BRIM OVER BOOT was fantastic. I'll be the first to admit that enemies to lovers is not my go-to genre. But Colt and Noah were damn enjoyable to read. From the beginning, you could see that Noah was under Colt's skin, and I was so here for when things started happening. And lord did they! Their love story is packed full of humor, rivalry, ridiculousness, and miscommunication/misunderstanding. They're idiots, your honor. But they're also SWEETHEARTS. Colt's struggle and fight along with Noah's possessiveness and patience. It's swoony over here! I loved seeing the Darling family again and meeting Walter. AND the Darling donkey cameo!
