His Tesoro: Emilia Rossi reread
I loved HIS TESORO just as much this time as I did when I originally read it.
Sofiya is lovely.
Noodle is a gem.
Angelo is perfect.
Romeo is ridiculous.
Matteo is a disaster baby.
For real. Matteo, our Mafia don, is an absolute disaster. I love him so much.
This has everything I love in a mafia romance. Heat. Arranged marriage that becomes real. Danger. MY WIFE. And double crossing.
I love this little universe. I love the characters. I hope everyone gets a book. Even the Irish!
I'm SO EXCITED to start my arc of HIS JULIET tomorrow.
Original review:
For all my peeps who read MF & mafia romance, HIS TESORO was a gem. I'm so glad I stumbled upon it and genuinely can't wait to read Romeo's book.
Sofiya is the daughter of Chicago's Pakhan. Bratva. She's told she WILL marry New York's Italian mafia Don, Matteo, to seal their alliance. ✨️classic beloved mafia trope✨️
Sofiya is an AMAZING fmc. I legit love her. She doesn't let her disability (hEDS) get the best of her. She hasn't had an easy life under her tyrant of a father - but she is beautiful and kind and tough as nails behind all her sweetness.
Matteo is the disaster baby of the story. He's not great at feelings even though he's boiling over with them. He's a secret softie and a little unhinged.
This book had just about everything I love in a mafia romance. Who's the rat? MY WIFE. Loyal bodyguards. Spicy scenes. Violence. Bad guys running around left and right.
I enjoyed the romance & the spice. Matteo was funny as hell, and I LOVED Sofiya. I just kept turning the pages. I had to know what happened.
Hopefully, we'll get more books about everyone. Angelo and Ronan and Leona and Sienna. I need more Noodle and infinitely more Angelo. Loved him from his first scene. AND DIMI! That was a fun surprise. I wanna know if the Irish and the Italians formed an alliance. We know the Russians have one with Italians, but we can't go sleeping on the Irish.
I loved the disability rep. Watching Sofiya navigate life with her wheelchair and her rollator felt authentic and not at all like a plot device. Like, those mobility aides were just AIDES to help her get around. The author didn't make them her entire personality. Sofiya's inner monologues about her body were a reflection on what most women and femme people feel when measured up against society's expectations. --> I saw myself in her quite a bit. Except I'm not a badass markswoman.
The scene in the warehouse was 100% badassery.
Like I said, I enjoyed the hell out of this book!
