Breaking You Open: Ally Avery

I've never read a book from Ally Avery before, but the blurb for BREAKING YOU OPEN checked a ton of boxes for me, and I couldn't say no. I'm glad I chose this adventure, I liked Sam & Louis' story!

I will say that the book was a little slow to start going, but it popped off a little after the halfway point, and I FLEW through the last half of the book.

How do I write this without spoiling the story?

Sparrow (Sam) has it bad, from the prologue. I've never wanted to spirit someone away half as much as I did Sparrow. But he gets away and starts fresh in a new state.

During a situation, he crosses paths with Louis, the older & much larger MC enforcer. And sweet Sparrow latches on like a horny needy baby bird.

We get bits and pieces of history wrapped up in sexual tension until it snaps a little over halfway through, and it's CHEF'S KISS. the plot picks up, but so does the spice and the dirty talk. YES, PLEASE. For real, the spicy scenes are smoking hot. I had to pause and dm my book bestie, like 👀🔥

BREAKING YOU OPEN is heavy and healing. It is a story of two broken people moving forward and it's out tomorrow!

The Legend Next Door: Totally Pucked Book 2: Jesse H. Reign

I think this may be the hardest review I've ever had to write. I can't believe I'm saying this because I genuinely believed that Unbreak Me would remain my favorite Jesse book of all time... but THE LEGEND NEXT DOOR has, without a doubt, taken that spot. It's rare for me to go all in on a taboo story. Mainly because I need a little plot to enjoy a story and most taboo is just porny erotica. Which, to each their own, we don't yuck anyone's yum here - but I need some plot. My little corner of booksta was popping OFF about the latest taboo story, a collab of dark romance writers Brea Alepou & Skyler Snow. I've enjoyed their work in the past, and was told by a trusted booksta friend that Grandaddy's Law did in fact have a plot in addition to the porny goodness that had everyone OMG-ing the day away.
