The Remarkable Lover: Sweet Southern book 3: Maya Jean

THE REMARKABLE LOVER comes out on January 1st, so jot that down. You are not gonna want to miss this story, ESPECIALLY if you love a brat.

TRL provides what I've come to expect from this author: great storytelling, amazing & real characters, and grand sweeping romances. Jackson and Harper were stunningly perfect for each other.

While we get the mc's romance, we also get to see our favorites from the previous books. Eli & Colby and Trevor & Beau were there along with everyone who works at the farm. We love a universe with precious previous characters popping in.

Jackson was a natural caretaker. He got his sights set on Harper and went woo-ing. I was cheering him on the entire way. He was romantic as hell and a brilliant listener. But more than all that, he saw to the core of what Harper needed. Someone who stays, and Jackson was determined.

Harper was such a brat. He loved pushing buttons & I loved how Jackson could bring out the softness in him. Harper had one hell of a time with _____, and seeing him navigate everything felt real and authentic. He was afraid, with reason, and afraid of wanting.

These two were incredible together. I love it when a character is like, "I'm gonna marry him" early on and then proceeds to do the work. We love a man who is obsessed.

I especially enjoyed how REAL Jackson was with Harper. Dude needed to hear some truths. When they were in Georgia and Jackson made the comparison of his blackness to Harper's epilepsy - feeling like that's the first thing people clock when he walks in the room. It's obviously not the same, but both men FEEL that look just the same. That measuring, and that same feeling of being put in a box.

There are a lot of topics and scenes I don't want to spoil, so I'll just say again: I loved Harper and Jackson. I. Loved. Them.

Imagine how beautiful they must have been together! Jackson with his beautiful dark skin and how tall he is & Harper with his pale skin and freckles and the long mane of red hair. Come on. What a pair of hotties.

I also liked the look into Harper's relationship with his parents especially paired against the two mcs and Jackson's parents.

The peak into book four sounds intriguing and a little angsty too. Not gonna lie, I'm looking forward to it. Until then...

You still have time to read the first two books before THE REMARKABLE LOVER comes out! Seriously, these books are one of my favorite finds of 2024.

The Legend Next Door: Totally Pucked Book 2: Jesse H. Reign

I think this may be the hardest review I've ever had to write. I can't believe I'm saying this because I genuinely believed that Unbreak Me would remain my favorite Jesse book of all time... but THE LEGEND NEXT DOOR has, without a doubt, taken that spot. Granddaddy's Law: Wolfe Productions

It's rare for me to go all in on a taboo story. Mainly because I need a little plot to enjoy a story and most taboo is just porny erotica. Which, to each their own, we don't yuck anyone's yum here - but I need some plot. My little corner of booksta was popping OFF about the latest taboo story, a collab of dark romance writers Brea Alepou & Skyler Snow. I've enjoyed their work in the past, and was told by a trusted booksta friend that Grandaddy's Law did in fact have a plot in addition to the porny goodness that had everyone OMG-ing the day away.
