Sweet as Honey: Aster Valley book two: Lucy Lennox

My Lucy Lennox adventure in Aster Valley continues. SWEET AS HONEY was, as advertised, SO SWEET.

This story had so much of what I love in a romance. An adorable, nerdy, quirky, and kind mc who meets their match in a grumbly, large, and broody mc. I LOVE IT, GIVE ME 14 OF THEM.

Truman runs the spice shop, dresses in costumes, and wants to be "the sunshine that helps people grow." He does all of that and more,  and i so much enjoyed Sam, softening his heart towards the adorkable problem laden spice man.

Sweet as Honey focused more on the plotty plot, the small town, and the found family over spicy bedroom scenes... but it had those too.

We got cameos from Gent & Winter, and Mickey & Tiller. We got the amazing "rainbow brigade" in the diner owners, and the lesbian knitters. We got great villians with the Stanner family & SPOILER ALERT: Mr. Balderson. *le gasp*

I absolutely adored Sam's character. The scene where he and Mikey fly back to Houston to deal with his family, and then Sam turns to Mikey after the REVELATION and says "thank you for loving me." That's a real best friend right there, and it honestly made me tear up a bit.

I loved how Truman grew into himself. How he found his strength, and how he was unwilling to put up with anyone's shit moving forward. I cheered so hard for him.

And all the while, as the plot continues to go by, the found family in this charming small town starts to feel more like real family, we get a new character with Deputy Stone & the continuation of the Ski Resort storyline.

Lucy Lennox is really a marvel. I've been enjoying these series so much. Until I started purchasing all her books, I had no idea she was so prolific. And while she has written many stories, they don't feel copy and pasted.

I loved everything about this book, and I'm excited to start Hot as Heller, book 3. Which I plan to do as soon as I finish this review. I am loving life right now, to be totally honest. Hot as Heller is the charming Sheriff Stone finding his romance, and you know I say for that? Let's gooooooo!
