Right as Raine: Aster Valley book one: Lucy Lennox
I wanna go to Aster Valley!
I ate up Winter Waites yesterday, the AV prequel, and read RIGHT AS RAINE today. Oh, the feels in this book were sweeping.
Mikey and Tiller have an AMAZING friendship/working relationship that slowly evolves into shared but assumed unrequited pining. This lasts for FIVE years, until a football injury and a trip to a little mountain town turn things upside down.
Mikey and Tiller both have obstacles in their path, but ultimately, they work them out, and the storytelling is TOP TIER.
Their love is so sweet and strong. It was beautiful to read. Mikey's situation with his dad and his entire family broke my heart, and there were many times I was openly crying... especially near the end.
But woo, that Tiller Raine was some kind of something. Thoughtful and kind and OBSESSED with his Mikey. I was here for it.
Imagine: Travis Kelce falls for his personal chef, in a real-life employee to friends to lovers situation. The swoon factor was real.
I'm off to f*ck up my sleep schedule by making a coffee and starting Truman and Sam's book. This is what vacation is all about!
