Hot as Heller: Aster Valley book three: Lucy Lennox

Sheriff Declan Stone can GET IT. What an absolute dreamboat.

HOT AS HELLER was entertaining and fun. It had a dash of ridiculousness, a ton of sweetness, and wonderful characters! The plot kept right on going, the actors and film crew arrived in Aster Valley bringing Finn Heller, our loveable interest for the stone cold fox... I mean Sheriff Declan Stone.

Both mcs went in with preconceived ideas about who the other was, but when they gave each other a chance. Woo Hoo was it good.

The side characters were amazing, as usual. And sometimes amazingly terrible, just as they needed to be. We had mentions, and a couple scenes of our original Aster Valley crew, and Finn's horrible mom-manger Lola. Kix, thr hanger on, who was literally the worst. Shaw the new deputy & Tess, Declan's bestie. Plus, the various other cast and crew of Gold Rats... believe me, we were pretty entertained.

I loved Finn finding his freedom. I loved the secrets of his heart. He had a sweetness that paired so perfectly with Declan's darkness.

And don't get me started on Sheriff Daddy. I mean Declan. LOL. A man with a heart of gold. What a man. His reasons for leaving LA and moving to Aster Valley were crazy, but legit. I absolutely understood his hesitance to talk about it whenever it got brought up. I loved him in Sweet as Honey when he showed up to help Truman and uncovered the corruption in the force.

All Finn's scenes with his mother were so hard to read. So so sad. His conversations with his agent were equally as heartbreaking. Kix was a typical user, and he gave me the ick so hard. Watching Finn realize that whole scene was absolutely NOT what he wanted was a joy, and seeing him choose Declan and Aster Valley was just as satisfying.

Finn and Declan also had a pretty 🔥 dynamic. Finn needed someone to take over for awhile, the man was treading water in his everyday life, and Declan was so good at taking the lead. Their bedroom scenes were so good.

I think, more than anything, that I loved how into each other they were. I could have read another 200 pages. That @*#&'n scene near the end on set was CRAZY and had me shook.

I adored this story. I ate it up. These two finding their HEA in a genuinely ridiculous set of circumstances was so lovely to read. I'll be reading the next book, a crossover with the Wilde series, I think, tomorrow. I hope Declan proposes.
