Monstrous series: 1-3 Lily Mayne

Monsters & demons are not usually my thing. Let's get real. But everyone has raved about this series, and I needed something NOT contemporary to read. Things are still a bit shitty here post Helene, and I needed something far removed from reality to distract my brain. I gave Soul Eater a shot, and oh my god. Talk about falling hard. Wyn and Danny got me invested, and I've been chugging along, loving every one so far.

So here's some mini reviews of the first three books & an update on where I am in the series.

Soul Eater: book one

Danny & Wyn, the Soul Eater.

Lots of post apocalypse world building.

Danny is hope and soft kindness and Wyn is a monster with a task. The love they share is beautiful & Danny's openness along with Wyn's vulnerability - a beautiful combination for a sweet love story with some interesting spicy times.

Edin: book two

Edin & Hunter

Edin finds Hunter in a sinkhole and rescues him. But Hunter is on a mission to save his bff Charlie, so Edin helps with that too.

Danny and Wyn help for a bit too. There are also new monsters introduced, a human/monster underground fight club, and some long awaited revenge.

Will Hunter give up his life and job with the military to stay with Edin?

The Rycke: book three

Aury & Gage (Ghost)

We are off to the Nebraska raider camp. Ghost, while out on a mission, ends up rescuing Aury from the Nebraska base. It's a slow build, because of the shock and trauma.

We get the raider camp drama, new characters introduced, and the RYKE. Which was a whole thing.

I wish the whole Mary storyline wasn't a thing, because out of all the scary and horrific shit this universe throws us *it's a dystopia, duh!* she is the character who gives me the legit heebie-jeebies. She is uber unsettling.

Aury was the sweetest sad boy and Ghost was such a water sign. He gave me big Cancer/Pisces energy.

Wyn: the novella

We need infinite amounts of Wyn & Danny please. Still currently reading.
