Bad Boyfriend Inc Books 1-3: Lisa Henry & Sarah Honey
Remember how much I loved the Alpha Tau Frat books? I wanted a similar vibe, and those books made me laugh and gave me the happy dolphins. Well, that duo also has a co-written series Bad Boyfriend, Inc. I shamelessly downloaded all three.
Book one, Awfully Ambrose, sets the stage. For money, Ambrose will go on a date with you and be the worst boyfriend/date ever. We see one of those dates in action - and good lord. Was it something else 😂😂😂😂
Liam, a waiter during that experience, decides to hire Ambrose to be a good boyfriend - his mom is a meddler, and Liam hopes that if he presents a boyfriend, his mom will stop with the matchmaking.
But Ambrose is the best at being charming, and one date turns into a big family weekend getaway.
This story was hilarious, over the top, and absolutely wonderful. Liam's family is so lovely, and the mcs are and delight together. There's not much spice, so don't go in looking for lots of bedroom action. The story is enough to keep you engaged, though, promise.
Ambrose and Liam find their happily ever after - and I loved every minute of this story. I'm excited to get to book two when Harry takes over BB, Inc.
Book two of the Bad Boyfriend series, Horribly Harry - we get Harry and Jack's story 💜 and I just loved them.
Harry ends up sharing housing *and eventually boyfriending* the brother of one of his "bad boyfriend" dates. The shenanigans that happen are entertaining as all get out, and the HEA feels like the ending of a romcom movie.
While I loved Jack and Harry, my favorite parts of the story were Harry's demi-awakening. Watching him navigate his sexuality was amazing, Jack was the perfect partner to go along with him on that journey.
The introduction of Tris was a riot, and I can't wait to read book three and experience the chaos that man brings to everything he's around.
Beryl and the adventures at the OP shop were entertaining, too, along with Harry's love of bad clothing.
These two authors seem to have the magic touch when it comes to writing entertaining stories with a wonderful group of characters that are friends but also a found family. We saw it in the Alpha Tau books, and we're getting it here. This is a FUN series full of heart.
God, l love these books. Book three, Terribly Tristan is Tristan and Leo's story and it was hilarious and fun and made me so happy. This was a book about being authentically yourself and being PROUD.
This is also a super sex positive story. Tristan is happily slutting it up through uni, knowing eventually he'd have to be "an adult." He was not expecting Leo.
Leo's inherits all his great uncle's property. His uncle is Mr. Erskine, the landlord for the Bad Boyfriend crew. As the story goes on, we learn Mr. Erskine was so much more than that... but I won't spoil it for you. It's actually a very lovely part of the story.
Leo is a bit buttoned up - conditioned to be the "right sort of gay." But when Tristan shows up to his great uncle's funeral on tight leather pants... their HEA is set in motion.
I loved Tris and Leo. I loved Miss O'Jenny. I loved the feeling of community that shined through the story and the feeling of PRIDE to be a part of the LGBTQIA+ community... it was amazing.
This was the spicer of the three stories, but I think that's mainly because Tris is such a vocal and active participant in a LOT of spice. I love how hard he falls for Leo.
The wrap-up of this book was great: seeing where our main characters end up and the rest of the bad boyfriends. These authors know how to create a great little universe of characters. I can't wait to go to the website later and download all the extras!
