The Silencer: Cora Rose

I just finished reading The Silencer, the next book by Cora Rose, and OH. MY. GOD. Mafia goodness mixed with the humor that Rose is known for and the spice 🔥🥵 bless my heart. You're reading the review my ghost is typing. R.I.P me.

This book had me hooked from the beginning. Tatum finds himself in a bad situation in a bar, in a seedier part of town *we don't victim blame in this house* The only person that could possibly be capable of helping Tatum is his best friend Angel's father, Anthony. The mob boss.

Anthony swoops in like an avenging angel, takes Tatum home to his compound, and the stage is set.

There are so many side characters I love and need backstories on! And the cameos from [redacted!]

But the main draw of this story was Anthony and Tatum. Anthony, the mob boss who definitely has a few screws loose. He's possessive and obsessive (we love to see it!), and once he gives in... he is IN. Tatum was a tornado of sass and sweetness and knew exactly what he wanted - Anthony - and boy did he get him.


The plot? PLOTTING.

The spice? SPICING.

The chemistry? IMMACULATE.

There were good bad guys and bad bad guys. There was entertaining C R A Z Y *Bane!* and found family friendships. There was ✨️watching✨️ and [redacted spice]

This book was AMAZING. I knew I'd devour it all at once, and I wasn't wrong. The author also left lots of avenues open to which couple the next book may be about... I'm hoping for Angel.


Again, this book was amazing.

❤️ The tunnels.

🖤 The jewelry.

❤️ The intensity.

🖤 The desk scenes.

❤️ The cameos!


I can't get enough of Tatum and Anthony, and I'm sincerely sorry if they become my entire personality for the next little bit 🫣😂


THE SILENCER comes out on August 13th.

The Legend Next Door: Totally Pucked Book 2: Jesse H. Reign

I think this may be the hardest review I've ever had to write. I can't believe I'm saying this because I genuinely believed that Unbreak Me would remain my favorite Jesse book of all time... but THE LEGEND NEXT DOOR has, without a doubt, taken that spot. Brim Over Boot: Darling Brothers book 2: Emmy Sanders

Oh my god, I am UNWELL. I shouldn't be surprised, but this one snuck up on me. BRIM OVER BOOT was fantastic. I'll be the first to admit that enemies to lovers is not my go-to genre. But Colt and Noah were damn enjoyable to read. From the beginning, you could see that Noah was under Colt's skin, and I was so here for when things started happening. And lord did they! Their love story is packed full of humor, rivalry, ridiculousness, and miscommunication/misunderstanding. They're idiots, your honor. But they're also SWEETHEARTS. Colt's struggle and fight along with Noah's possessiveness and patience. It's swoony over here! I loved seeing the Darling family again and meeting Walter. AND the Darling donkey cameo!
